The Meadows of Snow |

North of the Frozen Forest and the Ice Mountains lays the vast Meadows of Snow, great fields of nothing but soft and powdery drifts. Snowfall here is nearly continuous, the air off the mountains still warm enough to keep the ground from permanently freezing, but cold and wet enough to keep the meadows covered in at least a foot of snow in even the warmest weather months. In deep winter, this depth can be more than two dozen feet, and the snowfall can become a blinding blizzard. Even so, it was once said that these meadows were at one time warmer, and even bloomed great fields of flowers in the summer, but such is no more. |
