Garnett's Game: Shooting/Jumpshot

There are some players who have very a very accurate jumpshot, but it looks awkward and sometimes downright ugly (e.g. Reggie Miller, Peja Stojakovic). Then there are players who have a nice-looking shot, but can't hit the ocean if they are standing on a boat (e.g. Jason Kidd). And then there are players who have ultra-deadly jumpers that look picture-perfect (e.g. Ray Allen, Michael Jordan).

Kevin Garnett falls in the last category. He has very nice form, accuracy, and an insanely high release. He has excellent range, too. Many players at his height see their shoot percentage plummet the farther they step away from the basket. But Kevin is surprisingly accurate from the 10-20 feet area.

Suffice to say, Garnett has a mid-range game - something many post player really have. Out of all the prominent players KG constantly matches with -- Webber, Duncan, Rasheed, Malone -- KG ranks right up there. But KG has something in his repertoire that the rest of these players don't have: A wicked fadwaway jumpshot.

When Garnett elevates backwards, fades back, creates that instant distance, and extends that shot, there is NO WAY anyone can block it. Speaking Rasheed and C-Webb, both of them also have a high-release on their jumpshot. And both can shoot the lights out. Duncan, on the other hand, has a lot less range. Anything outside the 17 feet is out of his league. But he is mind-blowingly deadly on the inside, and he loves to use the glass. This is why it's so much fun watching Garnett go head-to-head with any of these guys.
