Trekking - Our Route, our start

We left Pokara by bus and headed to Nayapul where we began our trip.  We hiked up 2000 feet for our first night's sleep.  It was cold.  We camped outside a small school.  Schools are often located in what we might consider the 'most beautiful' locations, that is, those with a view.  However, they are located on ridge tops typically because there is no water there.  Therefore, the land is not useful for farming and is suitable for other purposes like a school.  The Annapurna range is a few miles north of 'night 6' labled above.
Why do these treks?  Here is the reason.  What a view!  This is taken on the way up to Landruk and captures the outstanding views that one can see.  I am pointing at Annapurna South which is slightly below 8000 meters in height.  Annapurna I is somewhere back there and was a subject of frequent discussion as we tried to pick it out.  I was reading Herzog's book "Annapurna" about the first ascent of Annapurna I.  The determination (and sacrifice) of those who seek to attain those heights is unbelivable.
