First and foremost, let me extend a
truly heartfelt thank you to Gary and
everyone else who has put this webpage
together. I am truly enjoying listening
to the _true_ country music that I've
found here.
If I have space for a short memory I'd
like to share it with the other fans. I
am originally from the state of
Kentucky, I was blind from birth. I went
to the Kentucky School for the Blind in
Louisville. I started in school there in
1956, I think. I was this very homesick
kid there.
To get to the point of my story, Jimmie
Osborne came to KSB in 1957 shortly
before his death. He came to our gym
class one day. Our gym teacher Miss
Monskey, I think, somehow managed to get
him there. He was one of the nicest,
most personable people I ever remember
meeting in my life. I can't remember all
the songs he played on his guitar, but
the one that really stands out in my
memory was ""You Are My Sunshine".
Another thing I remember was the genuine
handshake and the 1sincere hug that he
gave to a very lonely, crying, homesick
kid, Yours truly.
I remember listening to as much of his
radio show as school permitted, on WGRC
or WKLO, Sorry for not being exact n
which station. He did work for both at
different times.
I invite anyone to correspond via email
with me who enjoys the true country
music. Feel free to email me at
hugh2008@consolidated.net
In closing, let me say that Louisville
did have a couple of good country radio
stations then. Thanks again Gary for
what you've created.
I'd been looking for Jimmie Osborne
music for a long time and just happened
to stumble on your page this morning.
I'll definitely be back and of course,
I'll spread the word.
Sincerely,
Hugh and Wife Rhonda Stogner
