Joey Nino's Biography

Joey Nino started playing guitar at the age of 14. Although he took accordian lessons at the Conservatory of Music like most Italian boys did, he became interested in the guitar when he saw Johnny Cash, The Man in Black. His singing style was influenced by the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley, for the way he captured a song with his voice. The great Liberace's showmanship skills contributed to Joey's dynamic onstage presentations.

In the mid 70's he and his brothers and some close friends formed a local band by the name of The Ambushers. They played locally in the Niagara Region of Ontario. The band performed songs of that decade as well a special tribute to the Beatles. Thus began a lifelong love of music. They were together for 5 years before disbanding and going their separate ways. They still get together once in a while and jam but they know that era is gone.

In 1983 Joey married and moved to Toronto where he perfected his playing and showmanship skills. In 1991 he moved back to St. Catharines, Ontario where he continues to reside with his wife and 3 sons. He continued to get involved in other ventures; writing and recording original compositions while persuing his main interest,
"THE LIVE PERFORMANCE".

In 1994 Joey teamed up with guitarist Gary 'K' to form one of the most Dynamic Duos to ever come out of the Niagara Region. By combining Gary"K"s Musicianship and Joey Nino's Showmanship they have proven to be a very electrifying team. A show not to be missed.

Joey Nino is truly a showman. Some have called him Canada's own Mr. Showmanship. After all, the Americans had the original Mr. Showmanship - Liberace. A Joey Nino show varies with every audience and location. After the show is over and the lights have dimmed you will leave feeling something. What that is, lies with the individual audience member.

Whether it be a ballad or belting out a powerful number, his talent is clearly evident. He decided to combine the different styles of his many musical influences into his own - no boring moments here - his high energy, frequent costume changes, interactive comedy sequences will continually entertain you.
