Ezekiel
Ezekiel had a vision of Seraphim around the throne of God. Each faced four directions at once. One face was like a man, another like a lion, another like a bull, and the last like an eagle. The Seraphim did not turn, and the direction the Seraphim moved, that face was forward. It is much easier to conceive the words than to draw the vision, for like the mind, visions are not limited by the physics of physical reality. The artist often is trying to express visually a perception that is more all in compassing than so-called reality. As Shakespeare wrote, "..there is more in the world than in your philosophy, Horacio."
