This is the song version to the poem "You Are a Candle". My friend Jan
Phillips put the lyrics together from the poem. She also wrote the music
for the song. I first met Jan in April 2004, after I had moved to nursing
home in Taylorville named Meadow Manor.

You Are a Candle

You are a candle for the kingdom of light,
So why be smoldered by the darkness in life.
Remember what Jesus has done for you -
Get on your feet and start to move.

Shine like a beacon throughout the land,
As you are guided by God's right hand.
Let your candle shine in its' stand -
And the light of love will glow for every man.

Jesus is risen and living in you,
Changing the old and making it new.
