Greetings from down south. It has been quite sometime
since we sent you a ministry update of all that the Lord is doing in us and through
us. Thank you so much for remaining faithful in your prayers and financial
support. We have been quite busy and I wish I could list all the names of those
that were healed and those that gave their lives to Jesus in the past 5-month
period. God is just awesome. We have had several short-term mission groups that
have come down and witnessed first hand all the doors that God is opening for us
to walk through. Yes, we have had our share of disappointments, but God, somehow,
works those out for our good, and we praise Him for His faithfulness in the
midst.
Plaza Goytia Concert
Vista Ridge Vineyard brought a group of 25 on their team and performed dramas and a rock concert at one of the most popular plazas, Plaza Goytia. The concert was heavily attended and well received as songs were sung in English and in Spanish.
While we were putting up the instruments, several in the audience prayed with some of the group to receive Jesus as their Lord & Savior. Because of the size of the team that came we divided into two ministry groups, one half of the team stayed with Debbie and ministered to the university students while I took the other half to Enrique Estrada and ministered by giving out despensas and praying for the sick. An indoor concert was also done at Enrique Estrada and the team did a cookout and gave away free burgers and tea to those attending the concert.
Pastor Bill Leys and I had the privilege of doing a home visit just before the team departed and we witnessed the Holy Spirit fall upon Pilar, a 70 year old man, that I had met about 6 months and had been visiting every other week. Pilar began confessing Jesus as his Lord & Savior as the Holy Spirit moved on him. I turned to Ascunsion, his wife and I told her, “This salvation is for you as well if you want it. She too received the Lord that day.
Oak Park and Hyde Park Vineyards were the next teams that came to visit us and we did music and dramas in a small plaza behind the church. We had a little difficulty getting our permit, but we did get one the day of the outreach, especially after I told the official that the visiting team was also going to give out 100 despensas each morning of the outreach days as well as free hotdogs to those that attended the evening events. The only requirement was that we keep the music down low and clean up after each outreach event. The lady that allowed us usage of her electricity turned out to be a believer and was very glad to see us reaching out to the community with God’s love. There had only been one other group that had used the plazuela before and that had been about 3 years ago. That was why the officials were reluctant to issue a permit to us. We are slowly gaining favor with the presidency officials and we thank God for it.
New Horizons Vineyard brought a team the first week in August and we continued to sow where the previous teams left off. It may seem like a slow process, but more than half of the people wanted us to pray for them when they came to the church to pick up their despensas and some gave their hearts to Jesus. It is all summed up in the next picture as you see ministry in action. These doors of ministry are possible because after the physical needs are met, people will open up to the spiritual needs.
