On a scorching Sunday afternoon, the JETS traveled to the Westside Soccer Club for a challenge match against the advanced U-14 Eagles. First half play was dominated by the Eagles as they used very good passing skills to set up 16 shots. Lakin was flawless in goal as she turned back all first half scoring opportunities. The JETS seemed to stuggle offensively and were only able to make 6 attempts on goal. The first half ended in a scoreless tie.

At half-time the JETS coaches stressed the points of stretching the field and "Staying at their feet to cut off Eagle passing lanes." This stratagy proved effective as the JETS were able to limit Eagle scoring opportunities.

The JETS fell behind 1-0 early in the second half, but Cara pushed the ball to Bell who used a skill to elude the charging keeper and was able to fire the ball into the empty net. The match remained even the rest of the way and ended in a 1-1 tie.

Stats for game 9 are: Shots on goal: Eagles 28, JETS 14.
Goals: Bell-1, and game 9 MVP was Lakin Porter.
Record: 6-1-2 with 2 games to play.
