Belgian gasmask M51
This is the mask that started it all.
I was Just a boy of 10 years old. Looking through a book
where I say a man looking so strange. He was wearing a mask. Not just an
ordinary mask. I did not know what it was and a friend answered: "That
is a gasmask". Although I hardly knew what it was about, I kept on looking
back to that picture.
The man in the book was wearing such a mask. I never thought
I could get such a mask, but a few years ago they were for sale in the
surplus stores (and still are).
They only appear in brown rubber, it is a pity they are
not available in black or green.
