(ORIGINAL BROCHURE COVER)
Only Hillman knowledge, experience and engineering could have produced the IMP. Years were spent in designing, testing and perfecting this exciting new car. A huge, completely modern production plant was built at Linwood, Scotland. Hillman quality standards were imposed and Hillman craftmanship employed. The outcome is the finest light car ever made - practical, economical, elegant, comfortable. |
Now you can
get full-size space and comfort with small-car
economy. And top performance - in a quality built light
car that had the elegance and good looks of a family-size
saloon! That is the achievement of the new Hillman IMP. This remarkably compact car measures only 139 inches in length. It is powered by a brilliant light-weight aluminium die-cast engine, rear-mounted and embodying the transmission in one single unit, and specially developed for light-car high performance. It has a top speed of 75 m.p.h. with amazing fuel economy even at high cruising speeds. |
THE POWER BEHIND THE 'IMP'
