Laban Jonas Clemmer, Private, Co. H

Laban Jonas Clemmer resided in Gaston County and enlisted in Iredell County on 12 August 1862 for the war. He deserted at Liberty Mills, Virginia on April 11, 1864. Clemmer returned to duty subsequent to 31 August 1864. He was captured by the enemy at Amelia Court House, Virginia on 5 April 1865.  Clemmer was confined at Point Lookout, Maryland until released on 24 June 1865, after taking the Oath of Allegiance.
