Octavius A. Wiggins, 1st Lt. Co E

Octavius A. Wiggins enlisted as a Private (date unknown).  On 1 Dec 1863 he was commissioned into "E" Co.

He was wounded at  Chancellorsville, VA on 1 May 1863 and returned to service on 15 Oct 1863.  He was wounded 21 May 1864 at North Anna River, VA.  He returned to service on 15 Nov 1864.  He was wounded and taken prisoner at Petersburg, VA on 2 Apr 1865.  He was confined at Old Capital Prison, Washington, DC on 3 April 1865.  He was transferred to Johnson's Island, OH on 9 Apr 1865, but escaped by jumping from a train.

Promotions:  He was promoted to 3rd Lieutenant on 12 Jan 1863 and 2nd Lieutenant on 20 Nov 1863.

He also had service in "G" Co. NC 41st Infantry.
