| 49er Category |
A new shooter category has been added for shooters age 49-59. |
| Saying a line |
It has been suggested that any lines be said before the timer goes
off thereby making the stage consistent for all shooters. |
| Spotters |
It has been suggested that spotters wear a colored bandana or carry
a baton to distinguish the official spotters. |
| Dropped round |
Clarification: If a staged round is dropped back into the prop
area it is NOT considered a dropped round. |
| Miss defined |
If a shooter shoots targets out of sequence, is that considered a
miss, a procedural, or both? This was clarified as follows:
"Rifle, pistol, and shotgun targets must be engaged with the
appropriate type of firearm. A "miss" is the failure to hit the engaged
target using the appropriate type of firearm."
Therefore, rifle targets must be shot with a rifle, pistol targets
shot with a pistol, and shotgun targets shot with a shotgun. Hits are
hits, and misses are misses. If any of the targets are engaged in the
wrong sequence, a single procedural penalty is awarded. |
| Single-barrel shotgun |
Single-barrel shotguns with no ejector are now SASS® legal. |
| Gunfighter holstering half-empty pistols |
A shooter may shoot Gunfighter only if the stage calls for 10 consecutive
pistol shots. |
| Gunfighter changing leads |
A Gunfighter may change leads so long as no more than two sequential
rounds are fired from the same pistol. |
