Monday Jan 1, 2001: New Year's Day: DJs Azrael and Tryste take over Gateway

Feb. 14: Valentine's Massacre Ball 2 @ the Spanish Cultural Center, FREE SHOW. Charlie Drown, Mr. Underhill and Synthetic Minister perform. Freak show winner: Reive (the old skewer-in-the-face trick) Guest DJ Maleficent

Feb. 19: Logik, Flexus and Crazy Dave take over Gateway.

Feb. 24: ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US, the otherwise inane catch phrase, appears on Gateway's message board. Side comments, inside jokes and references are still brought up to this day.

Early to Mid-March: Gateway considers moving to the Spanish Cultural Center

March 19: The ohGr CD release party with NO prizes from Spitfire Records. The packages finally arrive in May. Flexus returns for a guest spot.

April 11: Urceus Exit show at the SCC postponed until the 25th due to the transit strike.

April 23: Crazy Dave returns as a guest DJ

April 25: Regardless of endless traffic and no buses, the Urceus Exit show went on.

May 18: A Luna Red perform. Reive and Rainy of Next! present a live piercing demonstration. Obsidian Rose fanzine debuts.

June 25: Charlie Drown "Silent Rizing" CD Release Party, drawing the largest turnout we've seen since the transit strike began.

July 2: Azrael returns to Gateway.

July 16: Java Joint shuts down. Gateway postponed by 2 days, opening at the SCC the following Wednesday.

July 18: Gateway opens at the Spanish Cultural Center.

July 23: 80s night with DJ Logik as a guest.

July 30: Comrade Squelch guest spins.

August 13: Sound.WAV guest spins.

August 20: Skinny Puppy Doomsday celebration/CD release party.

August 23: Summer Mayhem. Featuring Charlie Drown, Synthetic Minister and introducing Binary Holocaust. Also presenting Kazmira: fire-breathing belly dancer, and a Fashion show showcasing designers Nancy Black and Infektious Designs. DJ Pandemonium guest DJs. Obsidian Rose releases second issue.

August 27: ANTI-HERO *literally* lights his turntables on fire after playing a killer Powernoise hour. DJ Jesus also guested, playing an eclectic mix of old/new wave and classic industrial.
