All of the following camps
will give young volleyball players the opportunity to improve their skills,
meet other volleyball players from Pennsylvania, and get out of the house for a
couple days this summer! The camps with
resident rates listed consist of dormitory housing, meals, instruction, and
most include t-shirts. The commuter
rates are for those girls who will not be staying in a dormitory and will not
be eating in the school cafeteria (unless otherwise noted).
This page is nothing more
than a basic informational sheet and should you choose to attend one of the
camps, be sure to contact the school and get updated information concerning the
dates, costs, and requirements.
This camp is one of the most
popular in Pennsylvania, due in large part to the fact that Penn States
volleyball teams are among the best in the nation year after year. It’s a bit more expensive, but a great
opportunity for the girls.
* June 29 – July 3
* Residential rate $380
* Commuter rate $315
Westminster College
A shorter camp and a bit
closer to home, this camp will save time and money for those of you looking to
squeeze in a camp before tryout season begins.
I will especially recommend this camp to setters. The assistant coach at Westminster played
his high school ball at Farrell and is the best setter I’ve ever played
against.
* June 27 – 29
* $150

Another great camp with a
local feel. With smaller camps, such as
this one, girls are more likely to get individual attention. Ask around, lots of girls have attended this
one in the past.
* August 1 – 3
* Residential rate $225
*Commuter rate $200
* If 7 or more of you register together the cost is $205 each
* Tracey Fluharty (814)

The Colonials boast an
impressive volleyball program and recently won the NEC conference
Championships. Giving you another option, this camp will be
held at the Monroeville Sports Center with less instruction time, but also much
less money.
* July 19 – 23
* $125 (no residential
option)

There are also camps at the University of Pittsburgh, Duquesne, Pitt Johnstown and most other Universities in the region. Information about most of these camps can be found at http://www.pavbca.com/vball/pavballcamps.asp
