10 WAYS TO SAVE A CHILD'S LIFE

•   Watch your children at all times.

•   Teach children to wear a helmet, by modeling this and wearing one yourself, when riding a bike, skateboarding, etc.

•   Use a car seat that is properly installed in the back seat and appropriate for the child’s height and weight – or use a seat belt for older children and yourself

•   Install window guards in windows on the 2nd floor and above and gates at the top and bottom of stairways

•   Store poisonous items in a locked cabinet away from young children and keep the phone number of the poison control center on your telephone 1-800-222-1222

•   Turn handles of pans towards back of stove when cooking

•   Do not leave burning candles unattended by an adult

•   Change fire alarm batteries when you change your clocks in April and October and plan and practice a fire escape route

•   Do not leave young children alone in the bathtub or car – not even for a minute
