the trouble with convictions...
is that they are more often than not used in favour of the biases you already have and they are more often than not in favour of things you have not seen. I am not writing this piece against one particular opinion or disposition. I think one's bias should not stop him/her in doing something. If anything let it be a motivation to do smething. From a PhD friend of mine "How can I do something that I have always felt to be a lower form of existence!" refering to a job. He is aplying for jobs right now. From another friend of mine "I cannot be in the mindless business of programming what someone else thinks makes sense. It is insane." He is studying for IAS in india. "I don't want to be hired for cheap labour". He was being offered a 95K software job. myself: "I feel I cannot stay in a place long enough without learning something new" Have been doing so for the last one year almost. "My brother has a 200k job in **** ******* and he feels like a prisoner". He is still where he was three years ago with less promise and more experience. "I feel I can never do well in a finance job". He is right now a trader in bond futures. Me: "I cannot listen to one song more than ten times a day". I have been listening to this song in swades for a month.
