This idea is about making an eletronic trading platform in India. I feel that a large part of the efficency of the US government is due to the efficincy of its markets. This logic will obvioulsy not generalize to china. But I am sure in the end cracks in the infrastructure will begin to show. In the context of India the biggest hurdle for investors is the uncertainlty of the entire investment process and the lack of transparency. I feel the introdiution of a proper ECN would improve market efficiency many folds. The exchanges that are popular are India Bulls, ICiCI but they are not at all competitive for electronic trading. Market makers have a huge opportunity in smaler markets spceially with many US  funds having invested in the equity. Unlike the case of Googe Yahoo it is not the case that the bull market has only a couple of steam engines. The indan market optimism has penetrated far and wide.  It is important to lower the risks of investing at this point. An exchange for trading bonds would be a great idea too. There might be stricter regulations in this. But a Liffe style Futures exchange is a must. Now let's look at the software or technology aspect of it.
