Ash is the main character in all of the Pokemon shows, movies, and games, with the exception of the Gold and Silver. He is my personal favorite character in the entire series. He isn't exactly the most intelligent person ever, actually, he's pretty dense!
At age 10, Ash started his Pokemon adventure with Pikachu. At the time, Pikachu was an independent Pokemon, who disliked Ash, and hated being confined in its Pokeball. Over the day, however, Ash's compassion shattered Pikachu's independence. Though he has great love for Pokemon and especially Pikachu, he wasn't aware of how much he had to learn about battles and the concepts of owning and caring for Pokemon. After Misty "joined" him on his adventure, she taught him the first rule of Pokemon battles and training:  a Pokemon's strengths and weaknesses. But even Misty commented on Ash's love for Pokemon. In the third episode Pikachu was blinded by Koffing's attack and Ash gave it to Misty. "Whatever happens don't let them take Pikachu." He tells her. 'I've never met anyone like him. He really does like Pokemon.' she thinks to herself. (This should also belong in my AAML section below!)
Although Ash is quite hardheaded, he actually a good trainer. He doesn't catch many Pokemon, but his current Pokemon are very powerful. In some episodes they are indestructable, and in others, they suck; but they are supposed to be more powerful than an ordinary Pokemon of the same type. In Pokemon: The Movie 2000: The Power of One, Ash's Pikachu's electric attack matched Zapdos' same attack, and Ash's Charizard's flame attack matched Moltres' same attack. Whoa! Now THAT'S a strong Pokemon!
His ultimate goal is to be the world's greatest Pokemon Master. If you watch the show, you can tell he's totally serious about it. He cares for his Pokemon so much, that he would sacrifice his own life to save his or any other Pokemon. Although he may not catch many Pokemon, he's seen almost all of them including every legendary or rare Pokemon. Obseving their behavior in the winld, and their purpose is probably more important than catching them. And he's done that very well indeed.
But, overall, Ash is a good kid, energetic with a great heart and full of love for Pokemon. He has a pure heart and a will of steel.

Ash And Misty's Love (AAML) Type Stuff
Yay! Here comes my favorite part...the way Ash feels about Misty! And vice-versa too! ^_^ (If you people didn't know by now, I'm a
PROUD believer of AAML!!!!!) *Twiddles index fingers anime style* Even though I LOOOOOOVVVVEEE Ash...I still believe in AAML.
Misty joined up with him in the first episode after Ash was thrown into the river. Misty's fishing line hooked Ash, and pulled him out thinking he was a water Pokemon. "Aah, it's just a kid.....oh, and a Pokemon!" seeing Pikachu. After Ash borrowed her bike, and Pikachu destroyed it, Misty caught up with him at the Pokemon Center and joined up with him after that. Her cause: To get a new bike from Ash. Although at first it might've looked like she was living up to her cause, but her emotions got the better of her, and she soon forgot about her bike. As the story progresses, you can see that they both develop crushes for each other, Misty's more appearant than Ash's. Through most episodes you can see them fight with each other, only proving the saying "Opposites attract."
In the episode called "The Electric Shock Showdown", the episode where Ash earns the Thunder Badge, Nurse Joy and Brock watch on as Ash and Misty duel it out with clever words, and witty come-backs...well, not really ^_^(). Nurse Joy says "They say when two people fight, they really care about each other." Ash and Misty instantly stop and Ash says "Me care about her?!?" while Misty says "Me care about him?!?" at the same time, then turn away from each other. Nurse Joy only giggles as Ash and Misty had just proved her right. Nurse Joy's statement is very true, and very true in their case!
And about Pokemon the Movie 2000...heck, they really fly in THAT movie, they did!! ^_^ Heh heh.
(If you haven't seen the movie yet, I highly suggest you read the brief summary HERE.)
So, when Ash & Co. get stuck on the island, and when they meet a "tribe" of...umm....well, they don't really get explained...ANYWAYYYYY they meet that girl Melody who chooses Ash as "The Chosen One" for that year's festival/tradition. When she kisses Ash (on the cheek!), Misty's hair fuzzes up in disbelief, fury, and jealousy.
Melody asks if Misty was Ash's sister. "I AM NOT!" Misty yells almost coolly. "Then you must be his girlfriend!" Melody concludes.  Surprisingly Ash doesn't deny it or is appaled by the idea. In fact, he does absolutly nothing!  The other and one of the most memorable moments in the movie is when Ash is riding Lugia. Lugia gets hit by that guy who is so attached to rare Pokemon. Lugia hits the water wounded, while Ash helplessly falls into the water as well. Back at the ice island where Misty, Tracy, and Melody are waiting, Melody gives Misty her special flute to go play Lugia's song. Misty gives it back telling her to play the song, and she'll help Ash.  " And Ash is never really alone...because he's got...me." she turns to Melody smiling.

I'm not entirely sure about what that means: If she was
FINALLY confessing her crush, or she was just hiding it and acting like she was being a good friend. Decide what you think and send your ideas in! You might get yours posted!
