The Lamia share the Cappadocians' obsession with the world beyond, though they express it in a different fashion than do their more scholarly counterparts. The Deimos Discipline represents the Lamia's devotion to thanatology through the auspices of the Dark Mother Lilith.
Lamia
1 • Whispers to the Soul
The Lamia may whisper one of the secret names of Lilith in a victim's ear thus causing nightmares to plague to the victim and fearful thoughts of doom during her waking hours.
2 • Kiss of the Dark Mother
The Lamia is able to evoke an entropic, life draining force by expectorating a bloodpoint coating her lips with blood. Her bite becomes a deadly weapon. Victim takes twice the normal damage which is aggravated.
3 • Ichor
Lamia routinely use cadavers as objects of study and veneration. In the process, they have gained knowledge concerning the corpselike body of the Cainites. At this level, a Lamia can transubstantiate one of her 4 bodily humors into a vile substance.
With 2 bloodpoints, she can secret a vile substance, a phlegmatic, melancholy, bilious, or sanguine ichor. This ichor can be placed in a beverage or simply used as a contact agent. (Skin contact is all that is required, the substance need not enter the bloodstream). Only one type of ichor may be secreted at a time and bloodpoints expended only produce one dose.
Phlegmatic: Induces lethargy for rest of scene
Melancholy: Induces visions of death, victim is unable to use Willpower for rest of scene
Sanguine: Induces excessive bleeding, any cut or wound causes victim to lose an additional Health level next turn.
Bilious: Deadly toxin, the victim takes normal damage but can be soaked
4 • Clutching the Shroud
By drinking blood from a cold corpse, the Lamia can transubstantiate on of her humors and gain powers relating to death
Must drink at least 5 bloodpoints from a corpse and expend those points during the act of invoking the power. The play may ignore wound penalties for the duration of a scene, peer into the Shadowlands, finally gains the ability to sense the relative health levels of the beings she scrutinizes, if they are wounded, how badly, whether they suffer some mystic ailment.
5 • Black Breath
The Lamia may breath the Lethean fetor of the grave on her victims. Victims engulfed in this are overwhelmed by hopelessness and depression. 2 Willpower points. Mortals will instantly seek to commit suicide by the most expediant means possible unless they resist with willpower. Even if successful, the victim will rhapsodize about death for the remainder of the scene. Vampires can also resist, if unsuccessful they will fall into torpor, time depending on his Via rating. If unsuccessful, the vampire is likewise effected as the mortal.
6 • Lilith's Summons
A Lamia's blood can be smelled in the world of the dead. By spitting blood on a victim, the Lamia can ''mark'' that target, causing malevolent wraiths (Spectres) to home in on the victim. Lamia can also use their blood to summon Spectres though this power offers no control over the Spectres called. Even if the blood is washed off, the taint will still remain for the duration of the scene. Costs 3 bloodpoints.
