Entering the Castle: The first thing you should do when starting the game is to head left and enter the castle via the backdoor. Along the way you should find the backdoor key which will open the backdoor (surprisingly enough). When you open the door you will pick up one of two objects found outside the door (an empty milk bottle I believe). Drop it straight away as neither of these objects are needed for completing the game. The tricky part in reaching the backdoor is that there is a moat just in front of it. To cross it you will need to walk onto the giant shark fin. Beware as you have to keep moving left when on the fin or you will fall into the water. The shark fin is pretty fast so to get safely across you will probably need to walk halfway and then jump. If everything goes well you will land on the fin again as it heads back to the right bank. Quickly jump left again and you should make it.
Saving the Yolkfolk
To complete the game you need to defeat Zaks and collect thirty diamonds. Before you can do this you will need to save your friends and family. Here is how :-
Dora: Dizzy's sister has been transformed into a frog and is found on a lily-pad in the haunted swamp (right of where you start the game). Guarding her are two ghosts. To get past these ghouls simply hold the power pill found in the castle and touch them. You can then pick up Dora, but be careful as the lily-pads sink when Dizzy stands on them. Take her to the castle and give her to Prince Charming. He will kiss her and turn her back into a woman.. er egg.
Denzil: Denzil trys to act cool and as punishment has been frozen in a block of ice. He is found at the entrance of the ice palace. To reach him go left from the castle and across the troll bridge. Blocking your way on the bridge is a troll. To get him out of the way you will need the aid of the goat near him. Cut him free using the dagger and then hit the goat with the big stick. The goat should then charge forward and ram the troll of the bridge.
To free Denzil you need to pour hot water over him. To do this get a bucket from the ye olde well by using the handle on the left hand side of the rope. Fill the bucket with water from the geyser (right of the haunted swamp at the foot of the volcano).
Dylan: Nature loving Dylan is found near the start location and has been turned into a bush. The good witch Glenda will give you a potion to cure him if you find her lost cat (top of the monolith) and provide her with the ingredients needed for the potion. These ingredients are :-
Leaf from Dylan - Use dagger on Dylan.
Poisoned Apple - Found beside Dozy (left of castle).
Burning Torch - This is found at the bottom of the ice palace.
Dozy: Dozy is asleep (as always) but the spell Zaks cast on him means that he won't wake up. A big "shock" is needed to awaken the sleepy one. To do this drop the lighting rod on him (it's in the top part of the castle, reach it by jumping on the top part of the bed). Then drop the ancient lamp on Dozy and rub it with the cloth duster. Please note that a bug in the game means that you cannot pick up the lamp if you are already holding the cloth. When you rub the lamp a genie will appear and unleash a number of lightning bolts. The rod will attract lightning which will in turn shock Dozy.
Grand Dizzy: The egg elder is trapped in the ice palace mirror. Jump through the mirror to enter the mirror world (be careful as your controls will be reversed.) To get to Grand Dizzy you will need to jump past some platforms and avoid a few chess pieces. Before this though you need to get past a queen chess piece. To do this you must become a king by pulling Excalibur from the stone block it is in.
This isn't an easy task as your boxing glove hands just won't grip on the legendary sword. What you must do to get the sword is pick up "something sticky" from the well and then try to get the sword. Once you pick up the sticky thing you cannot drop it so you will only be able to carry two other objects with you. The well unfortunately has a rat protecting it. Trade the personal stereo you get by rescuing Denzil with the bard for some magical pipes. Use his magic pipes beside the rat and then jump onto the right hand edge. The rat will try to follow you and fall off-screen giving you access to the rest of the well.
Daisy: Dizzy's girlfriend is found at the bottom of the ice palace. To reach her you will need to hold the gold cross to keep the vampire found here away from you. When you reach the bottom pick up the right torch to open a secret passageway which leads to where Daisy is being held. She won't be able to escape though as she has been turned into a giant and won't fit through the door. Give her the drinkme potion to solve this.
Defeating Zaks
To beat Zaks you will need to use the Wizardslayer Trident on him. I suggest you have plenty of energy before attempting this or Zaks will kill you when his magic bolt hits you. You will get this trident from the devil who you will meet when you go past the volcano (jump on some clouds to get across). These clouds will only appear when Yolkfolk is saved.
When Zaks is beat he will become a ring. Take this back to the devil and then throw it into the lava by dropping it on the boulder between the two lava pits in the cracks of Gehenna. Congratulations the game is now complete.
