so apparently nubreed are a well-known and highly respected breakbeat act who have performed at the big day out, falls festival, and two tribes. not only that, u.k. dance magazine hybrid called them "absolutely awesome". i don't know about you but my life is pretty much dictated by the rule of hybrid magazine. as far as i'm concerned if hybrid magazine said smoking pubic hair was "absolutely awesome" then it wouldn't take long before you saw this obedient hybrid fan rolling up some hearty blunts of the best short and curls melbourne can supply. but to be unbiased and true to my journalistic integrity i must out my utter love and devotion of hybrid magazine to the side and review the original as fairly as i can. to be quite honest, it didn't really 'ring my bell'. none of the songs really stood out, besides track 11 - what is it - and i only liked this because it's one of the few songs where the vocals were loud enough to actually hear. track two is particularly crap. one day seems to be all about seizing the moment, but the guy's irritating vocals just make you want to slap the fool to stop him repeating the lone "one day" so fucking much. i'm not the biggest break beats fan so this will probably sound ignorant to you die hard lovers but most of the tracks i reckon anyone with a mac, a version of the fantastic garage band software and a lot of time on their hands could put together. |
