Asparagus Parmesan

1 pound asparagus
2 serving olive oil cooking spray (5 one-second sprays per serving)
1 tsp kosher salt
1 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp garlic powder
4 Tbsp shredded Parmesan cheese
Preheat oven to 425. Trim the ends of the asparagus, rinse and pat dry.
Arrange them in a baking dish and spray with olive oil cooking spray.
Season with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Toss to coat and distribute
seasonings. Cook uncovered for 20 - 30 minutes (see note below). Watch
for when the
thick ends just start to get slightly wrinkled. Add the parmesan cheese
and continue to cook for 5 minutes until melted. Serve immediately.
Notes: The
cooking time will depend on how thick your asparagus is. Make sure to
keep an eye on it. Nothing is more sad than over cooked asparagus.
The seasonings are approximated. I never measure. You can use
less parmesan for less points, but it IS the best part!
