Anyway, after a few more beers (Duvel) and group photos it was really time to say goodbye. We exchanged hugs again, shook hands again, clinked bottles again and swapped addresses. Then they were off on their long overnight drive to Frankfurt airport and from there, home. We waved them off, and made our taxi-less way back to our hotel.

After a sombre breakfast in the morning (we were the only guests I believe), we left for the station, and home to Caterham via Gent, Oostende and Dover.

It would be true to say that life will never quite be the same again after such an experience, and one which has truly altered my world in the most positive of ways. I can only thank all the wonderful people mentioned in my story, and the nameless dozens with whom I shared my summer, all of which, I can only hope, at some stage shared a fraction of those feelings which I have attempted to capture above. How I am looking forward to reliving those days at the earliest opportunity. To quote Jen again; "I thank them for their dedication and perseverance - and for the music they make".
