MARLOW 1 BROMLEY 0 – LEAGUE 01/05/04
A pretty low key and unspectacular end to a long season saw Bromley have the large share of the possession, but only really test their keeper once and get caught by a late goal. Adolph and Landry both missed the kick off thanks to the late trains!
The main talking point of the start of the game was the very long grass, which certainly didn’t help any attempts to pass the ball. Watson went close and we had a series of corners, but things evened out over the half and there was no end product at either end.
The second half saw Drewett denied by a fine save from Drake in the Marlow goal and some nice approach play by Bromley but he was never really troubled again. On 64 mins Marlow were awarded a silly free kick just outside the box and while Mark Willy was off receiving treatment some sloppy defending from the set piece saw Pritchard drive home from 15 yards for the only goal. Soon after this ‘The Bromley Limo Boys’ got involved in some scuffles with Marlow fans and for us onlookers this was far more entertaining than the lack lustre match! Late on Amoako and Falana both went close for Bromley and Isaac went close for the home side, but the game ended 1-0 and Bromley were just too disjointed to get a result from this one.
