BROMLEY 0 DULWICH HAMLET 1 – LONDON SNR CUP QTR FINAL 03/02/04

Bromley surrendered their defence of the LSC in a pretty half hearted display on a wild and windy night at Hayes Lane. Dulwich basically wanted it more and deserved their win, but it won’t matter to any Bromley fans if we get in the top six at the end of the season.

The game was pretty even for the first 20 mins with neither side creating much up front. The injured Danny Harwood was unsurprisingly hesitant in his decision making, but he still managed to pull of a number of great saves through the game. On 24 mins Dulwich scored the only goal of the game when a ball from the left was flicked in by Nugent catching Bromley flat at the back. The biggest blow for Bromley was losing Bobby George through injury before the half. Paul Vines replaced him and was lively as usual.

The second half was pretty scrappy and littered with petty fouls. Dulwich had a goal disallowed for offside and the closest Bromley came was a wayward Harney free kick. Bromley rallied late on, but failed to register a shot on target in the whole 90 mins so basically got what they deserved! The midfield was poor and it was probably more of a night for Myatt than McKoy.

Quote for the game: ‘You seen those things stuck up in the toilets?’

Team: Harwood, Potterill, Harney, Willy, Butler, Smith, Hammond, Kember, George, Amoako, McKoy.

Subs: Drewett, Myatt, Vines, Smith Jnr, Mante.
