BROMLEY 1 EPSOM & EWELL 0 – LEAGUE – 03/05/03

The last league game of the season and fittingly we ended the campaign with a win and got to parade the London Senior Cup afterwards.

Mark Harris started up front and the 39 year old certainly made his presence felt on the away defence! Bromley had the better of the half and the most possession, but it was the old familiar story when it came to the killer touch in front of goal. Epsom’s Hall was booked for an awful crack of Kirk Watts’ shins from behind, which probably got the crowd more animated than anything else in the first half.

The Ravens started the second half brightly and Harris went close with an overhead kick, before on 55 mins Grant Watts was on hand to turn and shot past Espinosa from 6 yards to put us one up. This came from a nice passing move down the right. Harris switched to defence when Adolph Amoako came on for Manuel. On 62 mins Epsom’s Webb was set off after clearly elbowing John Myatt in the face. That virtually killed the game as a contest. Grant Watts went close again, but this time he was denied by Espinosa, as was Garry Drewett late on. Kirk Watts was lively and Jason McKoy just superb in centre midfield. There was a great reception at the end as the players went up to the fans behind the goal and lifted the London senior Cup one more time, with the fans thanking the players for their efforts this season.

Quote for the after game: ‘And the winner is Joe Vines!’
