HANWELL TOWN 0 BROMLEY 1 – LSC Q/FINAL 04/02/03

Bromley managed to just overcome their Spartan League hosts despite playing for an hour with ten men. The Ravens dug in and secured a semi final tie away to Uxbridge on a very, very cold night.

Bromley started the game playing 4-4-2 and without Falana as a get out ball they over-passed and ran themselves into trouble on more than one occasion. K Rowlands hit the bar for Hanwell early on and Williams troubled the BFC defence with his pace. The Ravens were just getting on top of the game when on 32 mins Drewett was sent off for a second yellow, both for retaliation after being fouled. Luckily only 6 mins later Harris was held in the box challenging for a header and The Ref pointed to the spot. Myatt tucked the kick away and it was to prove to be a decisive lead. Hanwell certainly got stuck in and Webb was very lucky not to be sent off for persistent fouling of Watts & Amoako.

The second half saw Bromley start brightly with Watts playing well down the left. Harris had two headers well saved and Amaoko went close, but the ten man Ravens tired and the home side hit the post on one occasion and had a couple of other close chances. However, Bromley held out. Both Smith brothers played well down the right and Harris was awesome in leading the team to a hard fought victory. Hanwell’s No.2, A Rowlands, had a very good game at right back.
