BROMLEY 1 HARLOW TOWN 3 – LEAGUE 04/09/01

Once again we lost at home and let in three goals. Playing 5-3-2 for the first half Jjunju and Side worked tirelessly up front chasing long high balls that Kevin Francis would have trouble ‘flicking on’! We failed to register a single shot on target in 45mins, but defended well until on the 42nd min Harwood gave away a penalty. Samuel slammed the kick home and the half finished 0-1. Jjunju was subbed and midfielder Cain came on and played behind Side, which left us playing with one striker, 0-1 down at home! Mark Garland stood statue like at the back, pointing at other players and shouting criticism, while Bowen and Forbes chased around trying to hold things together. On 62mins we had our only shot on target on the whole game, and it went in! Debutant Briggs hit a shot from the edge of the box that was deflected in, 1-1. The game swung completely in Harlow’s favour on 70mins when Wilfort was sent off for a second silly tackle and yellow card. Straight from the free kick Salmon fired an unstoppable shot in from distance into the corner of the net. The final goal came on 77mins and was inevitably scored by Tommo, who easily headed in from a cross. At the end of the match Tommo acknowledged both sets of fans as did Dave Gray and we were left to reflect on the damage done by Dave Garland.

Quote for the match; ‘It’s a good job Harlow are crap!’
