DULWICH HAMLET 0 BROMLEY 1 - LEAGUE 04/12/04
Once again we raided enemy territory and came back with three points! After a horrible week at the club this was a great response from the players and hopefully breathed life back into our season.
The game started brightly, Bromley were slightly on top, but it was Dulwich who had the clearest chance when Sam Okafor cleared off the line. Debutant right back Greg Tiffin had a steady game and Gary Drewett was all over the pitch and eventually got booked for an over zealous tackle. Amoako went close from a well delivered free kick and at the other end Walker saved well following a poor pass across the defence. The half finished with the play and score even.
The second half saw Bromley start brightly again, but it was Walker who was called upon to make another great save when Arkwright lost possession. A great move down the left saw Watson’s effort fisted away from under the bar by Seuke and then the corner was just headed over by Arkwright. We had a good spell of pressure as the game heated up and the break through finally came on 77 mins. A corner from the right was flicked on by Arkwright and Watson smashed the ball through Seuke and into the net for 1-0. Dulwich were furious claiming a foul on the keeper, but the protests were waved away. With Bromley still on top Amoako beat Seuke to a good through ball and was clearly kicked to the ground by the hapless keeper, but ref Wynne chose to ignore it. Okafor received a joke yellow card for time wasting late on when he was being told to move back for a throw in by the linesman! The final whistle was received with a loud cheer and recognition from the players. Paul Kember as immense in midfield and the defensive pair of Arkwright and Henriques were solid and dependable. Everyone gave 100%.
