Bromley worked hard and battled well for all 3 points in an evenly fought match.
In the first half neither side really gained control of the match and two goals in a minute reflected this. On 31 minutes a good spell of Bromley pressure finished with Wilfort clipping the ball over a Whyteleafe defence standing appealing for offside, for Luckett to flick the ball past the keeper into the bottom corner. Whyteleafe replied instantly when a deep corner was headed back across goal by McKenzie for Golley to volley home from about 8 yards. Minutes later Myatt headed off the line from Hynes shot to make sure Bromley went in level.
Second half continued in much the same way but as time went on Bromley slowly took control of the match, and after 70 minutes a good passing move involving 3 or 4 Bromley players found John Myatt with time and space from 20 yards to hit a scuffed shot that crept into the bottom left corner with the keeper stood watching. Bromley then had a number of chances to extend their lead Danny Smith missing two good chances, an unmarked header and a shot form the edge of the box and as Whyteleafe pushed forward searching for the equaliser Richard Thompson shot wide of the far post when clean through on the keeper.
Bromley had to endure the usual final couple of minutes pressure which included a good save from Martini but held on for the win. Lastly after Tuesday nights fiasco, referee Mr Meilack was excellent and tried to let the game flow as much as possible.
