BROMLEY 3 TILBURY 2 – FRIENDLY 06/08/02
Apart from an awful 10 minute spell after half time this was a pretty impressive display by The Ravens, but you were still left shaking your head at just how many chances we missed.
Tilbury had the first couple of chances in the game, but it was Bromley who had the largest share of possession and Tilbury who defended deep and tried to catch us on the break for most of the game. Bartley and Thompson both had chances, along with several free kicks and corners through out the half, but the teams went in at the break 0-0.
Tilbury came out firing in the second half and Bromley look dishevelled and shaken. On 49 mins Okita caught Martini way off his line going for a ball he could never have won and cooly found the net from a tight angle. Okita got his second on 53 mins when his fiercely driven shot from distance left Martini static on his line as the ball flew past him.
At 0-2 down Bromley finally came to life, Bartley got our first on 57 mins with a sharp turn shot from the edge of the box. With the Ravens now in the ascendancy ex-Romford Keeper White mad several great saves before Manuel equalised with a free header from a corner on 69 mins.
The winner came 6 mins later when Amaning finished off a great move from a free kick, he looked really lively after coming on half way through the half. Grant Watts missed an open goal and had three more good efforts blocked by White. It’s probably no exaggeration to say that we could have had 10 if we had been sharper in front of goal and you get the feeling there will be plenty of games like this one over the coming season.
Quote for the game, ’Cuddly & Bubbly usually means fat & loud!’
