I'm still not sure this game should really have been played on a rock hard frozen pitch. It was more luck than judgement that all the players escaped without injury! But, it was on and we got a very useful point out of it against the second placed team in good form.
The game started with Horsham on top. They adapted better to the tricky conditions and pushed forward. They took the lead on 12 mins when Martini cleared the ball with a slide tackle at the feet of a striker only to see it roll straight to Collins who, despite having his first shot blocked, still had time to lob Chuck and send the ball into the unguarded net. Bromley took time to get to grips with the game, but did come back into things with Falana going close with a header just before the break.
In the second half The Ravens were much brighter, but it took the introduction of Amoako to really get things going up front. Within seconds of his arrival he was involved in the build up to the move that saw the ball come out to Wilfort who hit an unstoppable volley from 25 yards to equalize the scores on 61 mins. The home side pressed on though and had a series or corners that Martini and his defence coped with well and top scorer Geddes also hit the bar. Amoako and Falana both had good chances to put us in front from good breaks up the slope, but a draw was probably fair in the end and a reward for the HLO's who made their way to Sussex thru the snow.
