OXFORD CITY 2 BROMLEY 0 – LEAGUE 08/09/01

This looked a lot better than anything under Garland this season, but we still look well short of being able to beat any team in this division. Alan Seaman’s first game in charge saw us compete well in the first half, but never really threaten the Oxford goal. Side led the line tirelessly despite struggling to compete with their solid back four and debutant Shane Martin was busy in front of the midfield. The Ravens were struck a big blow on 49mins, when Bowen was harshly judged to have tripped an Oxford forward. The penalty was blasted past Harwood by Arkins. Bromley came back in to the game, but still failed to test their Keeper and any chance of a point was dashed on 86mins, when A good ball into the box was knocked down unchallenged and tapped in by Lewis. The disappointment was clear to see on the Bromley faces…

Quote for the game; ‘It makes a nice change for our players not to be slagged off from our own bench!’
