BROMLEY 1 OXFORD CITY 0 – LEAGUE 12/01/02

Bromley carried on their unbeaten run in 2002 with a fine display against a tough Oxford City side. For 80 mins it looked like they might have to settle for a point, sorely missing the presence of the injured Carl Bartley upfront, but finally the big men came up from the back for a corner and the job got done! Darren White making his return to the club headed the ball firmly towards the goal and Mark Harris got a flick to the ball which wrong footed the keeper and looped it up and just over the line. The goal was greeted with a great celebration, equally matched by the joyous scenes at the end of the game. Late on Harwood made two great saves to keep us in front, but in general Bromley had the best of the game, working hard and passing the ball well, but just lacking the final touch and an aerial threat up front. With the obvious team spirit high and Watts & Bartley to return things look good for the rest of the season at The Nest.

Quote for the game, ‘The first time Stevie B has seen us win in 14months!’
