BRACKNELL TOWN 2 BROMLEY 1 – LEAGUE – 12/04/03
A long journey and a lot of walking for very little reward! Yet again Bromley failed to beat lower placed opposition and were taught a lesson in taking chances.
The game saw Bromley have a large share of the possession and play some nice stuff on a difficult pitch, but yet again fail to play the killer ball or have a speculative shot.
Bracknell always looked dangerous on the break and on 35 mins a well constructed move out of defence saw the ball fall to Gavin Smith who smashed his effort past Chuck from just inside the box. Wade Falana went closest for Bromley with a half volley that was cleared off the line. 1-0 at the break.
The Ravens started the second half brighter with some good approach play and finally on 52 mins a great Kirk Watts cross was met by Falana who powered his header home for 1-1. They were only level for 6 mins though, when Myatt capped an awful game by losing his marker Underwood at a corner and he headed the Robins back in front.
The Ravens had all the play from that point, but the end product was non-existant and even the introduction of Amoako couldn’t inspire an increasingly frustrated set of players and supporters. The match officials were very poor, but in truth we got what we deserved and Bracknell get a lot of respect especially after playing the last 5 mins with 10 men due to injuries.
The second half saw a local crew of 16 year olds trying to start a fight with some younger Bromley fans and Jim Brown! It was funny and annoying at the same time!
