BROMLEY 0 WORTHING 0 – LEAGUE 14/02/04

Two teams who really didn’t look like they were worthy of their current league placings fought out a competitive draw, which was probably a fair result.

Bromley were much better than Tuesday, but they couldn’t have been any worse. Danny Harwood proved his critics wrong in goal and John Wilfort was awesome at centre back. The game was even from the off with both sides creating half chances and working hard, but not setting the game alight or making their possession count. Former Withdean hitman Sam Francis missed an open goal, but his blushes were spared by a late offside flag. The only other talking point of the half was a clash between Drewett and Freeman that saw both men booked following a foul by the former Brighton man. Both were lucky to stay on really. The second half was much the same with Harwood making three great saves from Worthing strikes and Bromley having lots of ball, but not really testing Packham in goal. Amoako took a very heavy knock, but carried on after lengthy treatment. Worhting’s fans bleated for penalties every time there was a tackle in the Bromley box, but ref Jackson refused to be swayed by the seafarers. The Ravens staged a late rally, but nothing came of it and it finished all square.
