BROMLEY 0 WINDSOR & ETON 0 – LEAGUE 15/03/03

As Bromley’s league season limped towards an anti-climatic end it was hard to see how they or Windsor were so far up the table or ever in contention for promotion.

The game saw neither side create any real great chances. Despite some good approach play there was no penetration or killer instinct in front of goal. Ball went closest for Bromley when he was denied from close range by Bunting, while at the other end Chuck barely broke a sweat. Bizarrely Macca subbed McKoy after 30 mins saying he was ‘Out of sync’, but to the fans he had looked the most promising player as far as an attacking threat was concerned. His replacement was the rotund Manuel who spent the rest of the game settling old scores with his former team mates.

The second half saw Ball go close one more time before being subbed for Grant Watts, who hasn’t trained since December! Harney made a good comeback and had one great run from the back which didn’t quite have the telling finish at the end of it. Winsdor’s well executed offside trap caught the Ravens out several times and their physical central defensive partnership coped easily with what was thrown at them. The Royalist’s closest effort was a cross shot that went wide and Bromley’s came from an out of form Odunsi who shot over. Kirk Watts continued to play for at least 15 mins after clearly being injured and unable to run, before finally Youth Team striker Nigel Pearce came on for his debut and showed some real promise. The game finally came to an end in total silence as both sides contemplated another season in non-league oblivion.
