BROMLEY 0 MARLOW 2 – LEAGUE 16/12/03

The beginners luck of the new Bromley management team ran out on this cold and depressing night at the Nest. All credit goes to Marlow and their fans who both deserved a win for their efforts.

Bromley started brightly again, but there was no end product to pretty passing moves and the closest we came was when Amoako blasted a Reid cross over from close range. Stand-in keeper Andy Hunt was steady in the Bromley goal whenever tested. The game was littered with Bromley offsides, when we did break the trap Wilfort headed wide just before the break, but 0-0 was about fair.

The second half was terrible. Bromley were caught offside too many times and even the nice passing stopped once Myatt was introduced for the ever impressive Kember. On 63 mins Luckett lost the ball in midfield and Romeo ran in and scored at the second attempt despite the best efforts of Hunt. Paul Vines was thrown on as we went with three up front again, but this time it didn’t work, with the midfield not creating anything. On 86 mins Myatt passed a clearance from a cross straight to Neptune who struck it into the net from 25 yards. There was a flicker of response from Bromley, but we deserved to lose and the Bromley fans deserve better than this.
