UXBRIDGE 1 BROMLEY 0 – LEAGUE 20/04/02

Another awful frustrating visit to West Drayton and yet again more potential trouble involving BFC. The game itself saw Bromley dominate possession in the first half, but fail to finish off many promising moves. Sadly Amaning had to go off early with a nasty knock. Just before half time Myatt hit a fantastic 35 yard drive which dipped and swerved before hitting the under side of the bar and bouncing down and out into play. No one behind the goal could tell if it was in, but supporters from both teams on the right of the pitch said it was clearly over the line. There was one more controversy before the break when Cleary stamped on Grant Watts after an aerial challenge. The charming locals were as pleasant as ever.

In the second half Uxbridge came right back into the game backed by their home support which doubles when it’s free to get in. Bromley couldn’t put a decent move together for the most part and had no luck at all when they did get in the box. Unfortunately their young star Goodall was carried off with a serious injury half was through. 2 mins before the end Uxbridge broke down the left and a low ball across the area was hammered in by Hamid. What then followed will be the main talking point of the day, an argument between Bromley players and some locals ended with a very large man running on the pitch swinging at all comers. He was soon restrained, but there was another confrontation around the tunnel area at the final whistle.
