A tough game, which we could have won, but, to be fair, a draw was probably fair over the piece. Macca played an attacking 4-4-2 formation with George playing down the right and steady debutant Mead in midfield with the sluggish over-worked Manuel.
The first half saw Leafe have the better of the attacking play with Bromley taking a while to settle into their new formation. They also found themselves on the end of some questionable challenges by the Kember’s and Massey that went unpunished. On 39 mins a long ball caught Harris out and his back header only served to set up Scott who beat Vines for pace and shot past Martini. Martini went on to make two fine saves before The Ravens did start to come back into things just as the break came.
The second half saw Bromley in much brighter form with Watts combining well with Amoako and Luckett down the left and George showing some nice touches on the other wing. The equaliser came on 63 mins when the ball was worked through to Watts who blasted his shot at Keeper Rose and the ball squeezed in between him and the near post. Although The Ravens had the better of the rest of the game they didn’t really threaten the goal too much, until in the very last minute Manuel blasted his close range shot just over.
A minute before that Paul Kember had been sent off for striking Watts after Kirk had made a clumsy challenge. A draw was about fair in the end, but it wasn’t enough for either team's faint promotion hopes.
