BROMLEY 1 DULWICH HAMLET 1 – LEAGUE 25/02/03

A good atmosphere and a pretty entertaining match to go with it. Yet again we could have won it, but a draw was probably fair with each team having periods of domination and former players from either side scoring.

The game started with Bromley on top of things, Bobby George looking good down the right and debutant Leke Odunsi looking class in centre midfield. Ball had the best early opportunity to score when Watts squared the ball for him, but he got the ball caught under his feet with only the keeper to beat.

The unpopular new young hoolie crew threw a bin at the Dulwich fans, but the stewards were too busy looking at us! Martini made a couple of good saves, before on 35 mins The Ravens finally took the lead when Ball latched on to a great pass and beat two defenders before rounding the keeper and just managing to scuff his shot home. The break came with Bromley upbeat and looking good, but we knew one goal would not be enough.

The second half saw Dulwich come right back at us and Chuck again made some good saves, with Vines also looking good at the back. Falana had to go off with a calf injury which left our forward line too lightweight for the long balls they had to deal with and the strong Hamlet defence. Martini got involved with the Pinkies fans when retrieving a ball, but it was all over quickly. Geroge and Odunsi had to go off injured leaving the midfield depleted and the inevitable Dulwich equaliser came on 85 mins when a deep cross from the right was met by ex-Raven Side, who headed home leaving Bromley’s defence crestfallen. Bromley rallied and threw everything forward, but it ended all square and was about right.
