BROMLEY 2 BOREHAM WOOD 0 – FRIENDLY 26/07/03

This was so much better than Tuesday night's training session, a proper game, with both sides up for the match and Bromley playing some nice stuff.

The match was competitive from the start with some hard tackles going in and both sides looking to break quickly and work the ball across the pitch, but it took a while for chances to be created or the first shot on goal. Bromley took the lead on 37 mins when Michael Harney nipped in at the back post to side foot a dipping cross into the net. Danny Harwood made one great save from a free kick before the Ravens extended their lead just before half time. Pretty boy keeper Noel Imber brought down Adolph Amoako and although he blocked Joe Wade’s penalty Danny Smith was on hand to knock in the rebound for 2-0 at the break.

Macca made a few changes at half time, but Bromley still had the better of the second half and had a few chances to extend the lead. Tony Reid seemed to be trying a little too hard and scuffed a couple of opportunities, Tom Ellis had a shot tipped over and late on Jerome Bennett scuffed the ball wide after showing good pace getting away from his marker. The game ended 2-0 and everyone connected with BFC was pleased with what they had seen.
