THAMES ESTUARY PRE-SEASON TOUR 2004
FISHER ATHLETIC 3 BROMLEY 1 – FRIENDLY 27/07/04
A very sharp, strong and pacey Fisher side took Bromley to school at Greenwich Borough’s ground. Athletic had been playing since 1st July and it really showed.
The Dockers went in front on 2 mins when the impressive Steve Watts cooly slotted home from inside the box. Bromley got to the pace of the game and started to create a few chances, but never really tested the keeper. On 29 mins Fisher went 2-0 up, Watts netting again after out-muscling Arkwright and leaving him on the floor. Vines had a chance cleared off the line by Davis before the half came to an end.
The second half saw several changes and the game took a while to settle down. Worryingly for Bromley Luckett stumbled over the water bottles when trying to keep a ball in and appeared to badly injure his ankle, having to be stretchered off. On 85 mins a free kick by Taywo was handled by a Fisher defender in the wall and a penalty was awarded. Amoako slotted home the kick for 2-1, but the chances of a equaliser were dashed seconds later when poor defending by Bromley led to Powell walking the ball home to end the game 3-1. Bevis looked strong when he came on up front, Taywo and Hill played well and Dean Frost made his comeback. Fisher's No.6 was awesome at the back as was their keeper Jerome John.
