Wearing Carshalton’s away kit we were once again outclassed by average opposition and made to chase after the ball for much of the game! No one managed a shot on target that was at all testing for their Keeper. The Robins first came on 25mins when Hegley’s cross was turned into his own net by Bowen. The second came just before the half when Wood was given time and space to score in the box. The formation was changed once again at half time, but achieved little in turning the course of the game, as Carshalton scored their third on 65mins when Harwood fumbled a cross and Falana tapped from close range. Junju came of the bench to add a little pace and Cain came on and made a good impression, but we never looked like getting back into things. Ex-Bulgarian World Cup Star Buncho Guenchev came on as sub for Carshalton! The final whistle was greeted with generous applause for the team and a torrent of abuse for Manager Dave Garland, who is surely now on borrowed time. This led to some ugly confrontations on the way out of the ground. John Self said he agreed with the sentiments, but not the methods. Then some Old Hagwitch started hollering abuse at us and when a couple of lads tried to respond her Meathead Grandson started pushing people around. As we walked away he threw handfulls of stones from the Car Park at us!
