MET. POLICE 2 BROMLEY 2 – LEAGUE 28/01/03

A heartbreaking last five minutes saw The Ravens throw away two valuable points in a game that they had dominated from the start and should have put beyond doubt way before the full on panic button was struck on 88 mins!

The first half saw Amoako, Falana and Watts torment the Police defence, with only the occasional break from the back relieving the pressure on the home side. The deadlock was finally broken on 39 mins when Amoako beat several players before putting a shot across the keeper, which was turned in by Falana. Just before the break Amaning was caught late and from behind, needing several minutes of treatment, but the Ref only gave a corner!

It was very much the same story for the second period, Bromley attacked and made the Police defence work hard to keep them out. Watts was on the end of an awful foul that yet again didn’t receive any punishment. Just after the hour a series of Bromley corners finally paid off when Manuel returned a clearance with a great looping ball that was headed home by Amoako from just under the bar. At 2-0 it should have been all over and it looked like it was, Amoako went close with a great solo effort that hit the post and sub Khalouq also was only denied by Keeper McKenzie. Then on 88 mins a break up the left saw a Manuel mistake and a low cross, turned in by Daly and The Ravens were thrown into panic. In injury time from a throw near the corner by the Met Police goal Myatt lost the ball and they boys in blue surged up the pitch in numbers the ball was picked up by James who beat the defence for pace and finished well past Martini to grab a point and break Bromley hearts.
