BROMLEY 0 MET POLICE 0 (Abandoned at Half Time) - LEAGUE - 29/03/05
This game should probably never have started. The torrential rain that fell in the two hours before kick off left parts of the Hayes Lane pitch under water and by the time halftime came most of it was submerged.
Bromley lined up playing 4-4-2 with debutant Adam Locke in midfield. The Ravens had the better of the play with Falana going closest from the edge of the box. Passes started to hold up in the puddles as the rain continued to fall and sadly Danny Carroll had to go off injured after a collision. Keeper Andy Walker also got hurt when sliding for a ball and by this time many of the crowd were calling on referee Mr Buck to call the game off. Before halftime two current Bromley players got involved with former team mates. Falana and Watson squared up to each other in the middle of the pitch and then Luckett and Bennetts had a set to. The bad vibes between the sides were rumoured to have continued in the bar. Five mins into the break the Referee carried out an inspection of the waterlogged pitch, finally seeing sense and abandoning the game at 0-0.
