We got exactly what we deserved from this, it was embarrassing. The only player worth the shirt was Dean Forbes, who was outstanding. The rest came up short individually and were further failed by poor tactics. We started with 4-4-2, but the wide midfielders and the full backs got in each other’s way and the forwards got no service. Late on we switched to 3-5-2 but the midfield contributed nothing. Hassocks defended well and scored on 70mins & 90mins. The first came from Rendall who turned in a lose ball in the box. The second a late header from Wilkins, after Bromley failed to clear a free kick. I don’t remember their keeper having a shot to save. If it wasn’t for Forbes’ inspired display we would have lost by more! Quote for the match, ‘Shut up Cool Cat, it doesn’t help!’
