Bromley were yet again comprehensively outclassed by their opposition and the final score line somewhat flattered The Ravens. Playing 4-4-2 things started brightly for 10 mins or so, before Stortford began to exert their superiority finally moving in front on 20 mins when John headed in a cross at the near post. Just after the half hour they went 2-0 up when Harwood and Harris left the ball for each other and Paul walked it into the net. Bartley had a good opportunity for Bromley after a great cross by Drewett, but he put his high shot wide. The impressive Freddie Hyatt hit the bar from a freekick and Harwood made a couple of good saves. The game was over as a contest on 47 mins when Brown left the defence standing and shot into the corner. Stortford then eased off a little and we actually had a couple of chances to score, both created by Drewett and missed by Bartley. The midfield was truly awful going in either direction, the defence was over worked and the forwards isolated and poorly served. Gibson worked hard on his come back, Bowen reminded us what a quality player we let slip through our fingers.
Quote for the game, ‘Give Myatt a red card Ref, it was two footed!’
